Saturday – May 6 – 9:00 PM
Join us for another amazing Star Party at the park, sponsored by the Staff and Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park and conducted by the Barnard Astronomical Society. Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes.
On May 6th we will be observing the Eta Aquarid meteor shower. This is an above average shower, capable of producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. We will look at and identify the Constellations of Spring. And, as always, we will be observing DSO’s (Deep Sky Objects) like star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies like our own Milky Way. Meet at the starting point of the disc golf course, where the old swimming pool used to be. Astronomy programs are FREE to all, but there is a park entrance/parking fee of $5 per vehicle.
